Sunday afternoon stroll

Hi

Since finding the gold ring last week, I have been itching to detect. It has been raining, and I have been busy at work. This afternoon I went to a park which I had spotted last weekend, when I got lost in Christchurch, Not really lost just went down the wrong street. lucky for me though. I looked as though it would be good for detecting.

Seeing I don't have heaps of time, I usually go for 30-42 (xt50) signals unless interesting or from an area where lots of coins have been picked up. The first good signal I got was the bent silver ring? or part of jewelery. It was a 42 and it was that small? odd. then the next hit was the large .925 silver ring. 6 dollars wasn't to bad, for an hour........ and the 1940s penny and halfpenny. I gave a heap of 1 and 2 cent pieces to these kids which were slightly annoying me by riding their bikes in front of me. Good that they are interested though .
Learnt 2 things
1st I don't think any of the parks in the suburbs will have been detected before (very good observation as I have them all to myself)
2nd I found out that this was the site of an old school. and there is heaps more area to detect...........

Yeah right. You might have had the missus in the car with you at the time and you needed a good cover story. She might have bought it, but the rest of us know the truth. You just wanted to scout that park out that you saw on the map earlier.:rofl:
Horribly addictive hobby, ain't it. Welcome to the obsession.
Mick Evans.
P.S. Your secret is safe with us. We won't tell her if you don't.:detecting:

Well done Moa,
Haven't had the chance to get out, sorry mate we sent the rain your way from up here
Great finds
Cheers Kiwi

Actually I had to look at google earth to find how to get to the park again, thank goodness I took notice of a road name or I would have been driving for ever.
I Did meet two nice girls there, who instead of laughing were interested, and wanted to go out to town one night!!!! you never know just what you will find....
But when anyone asks what i do and

I have been told of another park which had a sensory garden for blind people. blind people could have lost more stuff than the average person? this was back in the 60s. so im not sure how long it was there before hand. sounds good.
Kiwi, there has to be some good parks in Dorkland oops Auckland, its older and more people around.

Nice finds. It's nice to get out for walks when there are good things waiting to be found.

Nice finds and hunt! I don't think I have the patience for the kids, I try to do parks and playgrounds during kid off duty hours so the kiddies are not there, LOL. HH, Mike
