Sunday 2 Hunts. A Rosco. Three JFK Halves. I'm satisfied.

I want you guys to know I listen. I decided that with my batteries running low I would try rechargeables as suggested by many of you. I need to get 191.5 hours hunting out of them to break even. So on my way to Walmart I stopped at two schools and hunted. That's pics 1 and 2. The ring is a junker (or a Rosco if you prefer) but pretty. Also the third anchor button in as many days. Another old button, opinions requested. A mess of coins and some other junk jewelry.

Got home. Charged up the new batteries with my new Energizer 15 minute charger. Installed them and headed out to one of my favorite sports which was full of people. Decided to try out a drained ice skating pond that was still pretty wet. Got a lot of coins including a 1957D wheat and 3 JFK half dollars. This place always seems to give up clad halves. Three in one day ties a personal record set earlier this year. I was in jewelry mode but I ignored many targets. I can go back. I was digging CU cents and above and Nickels

Lots of fun. Lots of loot. Need 189.5 hours additional hunting on these 8 batteries to break even.

Chris

PS Gas was $3.40 last week and was $3.72 this morning here. WTF?

Nice haul Chris!

Nice finds. Gas here is 1.25 a litre or if you prefer 5.00 dollars a gallon:rant:.

Some of the rechargeable batteries charged in those 15 minute chargers get so hot that the inside matrix dries up and shortens the life of the batteries. The best way to charge up batteries is to charge them up over 12 hours. Most chargers then continue to trickle charge them to compensate for the normal drain.

Nice finds, and gas in San Diego is around 3.72, I buy the multi-packs of batteries from Costco, everything my kids have uses
AA batt's, so i all ways have a large box of them laying around
