Sun Ray Stealth X-8 vs CoilTek 10x5 Joey coil

I forgot I had a 10x5 Joey coil and bought a Sun Ray Stealth X-8. For those who have tried them both what are your thoughts on each? Is it worth keeping both or are they close enough to get rid or one? If so, which one? By the type I would assume the Joey would have a slight depth advantage and the X-8 better separation?

Thanks

I would say it's the other way around I have the 10x5 treasureseaker which is the new joey coil and it picks apart the trash ... being narrower it seperates better and the X8 is deeper being wider

I'll be trying out the X8 here soon and will compare the two

I've owned & used both Terry and the Joey got the best separation while the X-8 got the best depth.-----That 5 X 10 Joey found me a (shallow) old Morgan dollar in a bed of nails once.--That Morgan wasn't deep but it had been laying there in that bed of nails for all those years, I thought that said a LOT for the Joey.-----I have made some great finds with the X-8 also though, they are both excellent coils.--------Del

yeah I have a success story with the 10x5 also, Saturday I was working in front of a 150 some year old house and it was littered with roofing nails, and I got a iffy CO of 45 but it was repeatable so I dug ... out of a 4" hole I pulled out 5 roofing nails, one hearing aid type battery and stuck my Propointer back in there and pulled out a dime ... I love that coil and TTF, so far I have pulled several dimes at 7" with it and they were solid hits ... I can't ask more than that from a coil. I have the 12x8 Coiltek coil on the way and the loaner X8 I should have it by Friday to test

I had both and kept the X8. I think the separation and depth on both is so close that it doesn't matter. You can make a case the coiltek is slimmer so it gets into more spaces easier but its also longer.......

I kept the X8 because of the waterproof feature, I hunt to much near water so it does get dunked. I also tried the 8X6 SEF and found the separation and depth close but think the X8 goes a little deeper. Its got a heavier feel to it so I got rid of it. I recently picked up a nel sharpshooter and it feels just a tad heavier than the X8 and seems to separate a little better and get about the same depth. Its a really nice little coil, gonna hold onto it for awhile until I get more time in, its also waterproof. The stock 8" coil is close to them all in depth separation but it feels the heaviest.
