Sun Ray Golds And V3i

I've had these headphones a long time, and just tried then on the V3i. Are you not supposed to get sound from both ears? martin

I normally use the wireless but I have tried my Golds with the V3i and mine worked fine. Make sure wired headphones are checked in the menu and try flipping the mode switch on the headphones, also make sure the plug is pushed all the way into the box. I would try the headphones on something else to make sure you don't have a problem with the phones too.

I'm not sure why, but after trying the Golds with the 5900, and it worked fine with the 5900, the phones go both ears with the V3i now. Go figure. Thanks for the advice. My 5900 has a loose socket so I have been slow to test then on that unit. Maybe the circut in the Golds just needed a nudge or something. I also have a pair of cheapys bought in a garage sale with the seperate volume controls I had tried and they also only gave one ear. Both ears work with those too now, so I hope the V3i isn't goofy and this comes back. Regardless, the Golds work fine.

What is the functionality of the two switches on the Golds? One seems to attenuate the sound a lot. martin

Enhanced Limiter Circuit with on/off switch (left side). (For more pronounced reduction in loud blasts from surface targets, while allowing the faintest of signal responses to be clearly heard. Limiter results will vary from one detector model to another.)

Mode selector switch (right side) makes the new Sun Ray Pros compatible with most metal detectors.

It pays to read the instructions that come with the Golds. You sure are unlucky Martin.

Except for the switch and what it does, I can't see how reading the instructions would have done any good on the lack of both earpieces giving sound. I admit though that aside from the manuals of the V3i, which I've repeatedly read many times, I am guilty of trying stuff without much reading of those instructions. Unlucky has seemingly been my new middle name with metal detecting gear :-( martin
