Sumspot Scoops

Their website says "More to come in May". At least for the 8" wide model. I believe the 6.5" is readily available. I am looking for a scoop to use for both fresh water and, less frequently, salt water beach and shallow water. This is one that I'm considering.

If anybody has one of these, I'd like to know your thoughts, pro's and con's.

I'd have a metal handle put on if youre planning on using it in the waves...for streams and lakes its probably not a big deal. From what a buddy of mine tells me the wooden handle makes it a real pain when the waves are shoving you around.

id like to get an 8 for the lakes around here...i guess well have to wait and see if any are made??

I have the 08 scoop and really love it. the wood handle has never been an issue. But our beaches don't have big waves like Dig was talking about. I have had mine over 2 years still looks like new. its great I have dug some deep holes with rocks and clay never hurt the 08 once when digging rocks and clay it a little heavy when full. but remember you don't have to sink it 12 inches when working that kinda of area go 6 at a time. then when in sand fill her up.
