Went early this morning to a swimming area on the river to cool off.
Naturally I took my Excal and went wading. I picked up just over $5.00 in modern coin, an old 1950 halfpenny, what looks like a home made silver ring and a nice 9ct wedding band.
Also found what looked like an old gold platted fob watch, as it was very encrusted. It may be gold plated, but certainly isn't old. After a while in the electrolysis bath I could see the inside was plastic

Not to worry, still got some real gold and had a great morning with the family.
