Summer school yards

The only time we can get onto the fenced in school yards is in the Sumer when the janitorial staff and maintenance folks are doing their work getting the school ready for the new school year.

That happened today. Made it into a school yard for a couple of hours without getting the boot. Found 34 quarters 14 dimes, 9 nickels and 19 penny's. Also got 2 tokens, a Disney pin and a junk ring.

Not a bad day. Weather was absolutely beautiful.

The good thing about us the European detectionist is that our coins are cut in higher value.
And if we are so lucky to find one of these ancient roman or greek.

Did you know you were going to get booted from the beginning, and still choose to go in?

We got the boot about a year ago from this school by a lady janitor. It was right close to school starting and there were a lot of teachers there. The other janitors never say a word to us. It's kind of strange that some administrators tell you the they have a closed campus, but they lease the school auditorium out for church groups and other functions, and ayso soccer and other sports can practice there when school's not is session. I never argue. If I'm ever asked to leave I do it. I' m an old dude, and remember when schools were open to the public all of the time. We use to play after school on the playgrounds and use the gym until 5 or 6 in the evening. It's a sad day when we have to fence our kinds in school to keep the bad guys away. Enough to say that growing up in the 40's and 50's life was much simpler.

A person always has to prepare the mind for a good booting! Just because somebody asks you a question don't mean you have to give them an honest answer! Both are very good metal detectorist lessons.
