I'm new at this and looking to buy an affordable unit but don't want tobuy a piece of junk. Are the Walmart models (202-505) any good or should I look at Radio Shack? I'm disabled and am looking for a good hobby where I can get the much needed exercise.

Hi Larry, I have the Bounty Hunter 202 and really like it. If you read the forum, lots of people have the 202 and the 505 and are very satisfied! It is great exercise too! Good luck!

It looks like the 202 and QuickDraw II are the same and the 505 and SharpShooter II are the same. Check the manuals. 202 505
Check out amazon.com they are $50 to $100 cheaper with free shipping on stocked items.

larry, I have been hunting with a 505 and am very happy with it..its the same as the SS II as listed above.. You will hear a lot of
Stuff about Bountry Hunters but just read the post and you will learn from some very people who really know this hobby
until I joined this forum I have learned a lot and has made my hunting hobby so enjoyable.....These are great people
who never stop a second when asked for help

You will not go wrong with either the 202 or the 505. I have used the 202 for nearly 5 years and it has been an extremely dependable machine that has paid for itself in coins found and it is also a great relic machine. I'm certain the 505 has the same track record. Don't let the price fool you into thinking you are settling for something of less quality - Bounty Hunter makes a great line of machines. Another thing to consider is the warranty if something should go wrong. I can tell you that BH stands behind their product 100%. For the hobby hunter you will not be disappointed. Which ever unit you buy, do so with confidence, you are getting a very good machine that will provide hours and hours of enjoyment.
