Anywhere there are no snakes.....................LOL Lol Be careful in TNN.

Old Shools, Old Homesites, Football fields, Baseball fields, research your area and locate old carnival grounds revival meeting places.
Civil war sites There are many in Tenn if my info is correct..A nice CSA buckle could make your day

Don't mind working trash--schools and parks. For something a little bit cleaner--try old homesites--the longer it has been since inhabitation the better. Driveway, water source, clothesline, big trees, outhouse areas are where I focus first.

That's just universal advice. Depends on what you're after too. Don't know your area.

You want to find out where the old dwellings, taverns, mill sites, etc. were. In general, you would want to find these sites that are no longer standing; this will increase your odds of finding those "virgin" sites.

P.S. Going to your local history section in your library will be a start, as this is what I did when I first entered into this great pastime. If you need any guidance or assistance with your research, e-mail me and I will gladly get you on that road to finding treasure.
