Suggestions For Shooting Coins and Jewellry...

I just bought a Canon PowerShot A80 Digital Camera, and when I use a 60 watt light bulb close to a coin in the macro mode, the photo always has too much yellow to it. Of course, using the flash gives too much reflection. I have also tried a white transluscent container with the light shining on the container, and still yellow. Also, the focus doesn't seem to be as sharp? I think that I actually had nicer pics using the Cannon A200. Any suggestions or ideas that I can experiment with for better results?

I have found that cutting the bottom off and trimming around the top of a milk jug just enough to let the lens in gives me good lighted macro shots in fluorescent light; no extra light, just the normal overhead flourescent light in my kitchen. The standard lighting you are using could very well be the culprit in making your photos yellow.
