suggestions for connecting new lower rod...

New member
Hi All!
I have an ACE 250 (LOVE IT!). I got a new lower rod from the company, but it ddn't come with the pieces to push into the ends that fit into the coil. Where can I find the little plastic pieces so I can use te new rod for my sniper coil? Is there somethingelse I can use in their place?

Thanks!
Brian

It sound like you need the coil mounting bolt and washers. Garrett's part no is 23333300. You can search for it on their website. The kit is $4.00.

I had the bolt break while under warranty and called Garrett. They sent me a replacement kit and an extra backup set. Perhaps if you call them and ask real nice, they'll send you some too.

I have bought 2 sets from a dealer and they come with the mounting hardware (as yours should have). Here is who I deal with. I have to put spaces in between the letters or this site won't let it show. I guess they don't like REAL competition. You can look at the website or go on Ebay and look up user name connieg1; they are one and the same and have the lowest prices and a great selection of MDing products.

Call Garrett or contact Mary Penson at Garrett -- maryp@garrett.com
They will send you the spring clip as it should have been equipped with one.

Apparently what you consider as unreal competition are the folks that pay for this forum and give you a place to come and play.

Bill[/quote]Bill, when it comes to money, I think with my wallet, not my heart. I shop around and buy where I get the best deals. And so far, Brian a ST is the best. I'm sure the sponsors here get there fair share of the market.

Hi Bill (and everyone else too!). I got the lower rod from garrett. My original rod that came with my 250 had a miniscule crack right down at the end and i was concerned abut switching the coils on and off making it worse. So I asked about buying one and they sent me one for free. I really don't mind buying the washers (or even the rod if they'd let me!) I just didn't see where to get them from. So a couple bucks and it'll be good to go. I'll probably add a couple other things to the order anyway!

Thanks again!
Brian

Garrett figured, I figure from your first post, that you would be switching out the old rod for the new one they sent ya. Being the case no other parts were needed as they figured you had them when you changed your lower rod.

A lot of figuring eh!!

That's what I figure too. But I think the original rod will be fine as long as I'm not going through the extra stress of changing out the heads all the time. So I'll keep the sniper coil on the original rod once I get the parts delivered.

:heh: should work out A-OK fer sure. Was a lot of figuring going on there eh!!
Some of that new super glue by Loctite called SUMO would help keep the old one together and it drys white so don't look bad.
