Although new here and to the CTX, I felt most qualified to chime in on this topic. About me, I do have a degree in engineering and and by employment must, on a yearly basis, complete annual recert courses that are job specific ( electrical generation) , I am also the average consumer, and consider myself to know a little...about a lot.
From a smart consumer standpoint, I did research the CTX and have been out with GKman, who not only uses a CTX, but has a passion for this sport beyond most. Truth be told, I purchased mine because I liked how the CTX intrigued GK after a full life of detecting. However, you have to admit from a business standpoint, the sale of detectors is a narrow market as opposed to TV's, computers,1000 dollar smartphones we all have or a TV commercial every 10 min about crap I've never heard of or will ever use, yet the companies promote their products to us. If WE the intelligent ones were to invest in a business I would think we would be sure that the product description, the products capability, and a clear description on how to use and enjoy the produce would be bold and clear. Sounds to me that Minelab needs to step up the public relations and consumer education end of business with clear, concise ( average Joe) user guides. I know I'm now rambling, but if I were to own mine lab or to be a stockholder I would want people to be standing in line for one like they do for the iPhone.
Having said my piece, I'm now going out for the second time with the CTX and attempt to get the most out of this machine with a homemade 40 page notebook of advice and pointers, not from minelab, but from you folks......and for that I thank you.
