Suggested battery replacements

Hey y'all,
Read about some having trouble with Minelab rechargeable batteries used in the Explorer. When it comes time to chuck the Minelab rechargeable pack into the trash, here is a cheaper alternative:
1. Buy eight 2300 mAh Energizer NIMH batteries. Wal Mart sells them for less than 20 bucks. Other makers sell similar batteries, but these have worked well for me. And, they seem to be a tad shorter than AA alkaline batteries, so they're easier to pop into the standard battery stick!
2. Buy the Rayovac model PS3 "Universal Battery Charger". Charges the eight NIMH batteries in less than 12 hours safely. Bought the charger several years ago for less than 20 bucks at Wal Mart. Don't know what they want for it now, but I know it's still available, and it has worked just fine!
I get at least 12 - 16 hours of battery time per charge, using headphones. The batteries are so cheap, I recently bought a second set, to recharge at home when I'm out in the field on the first set. I carry eight alkaline batteries in a medical pouch on my web belt for emergencies, but have never needed them. And yes, I do hunt continously throughout an 8 - 12 hour day, stopping only for lunch.
For those of you who don't have the Minelab rechargeable pack, I believe the suggestions above are the cheapest way to go. More mAh means more hunting time per charge, so the 2300 mAh batteries will do a lot better than the Minelab stuff. And, as battery techonolgy improves (it always seems to!) you can buy the next generation of batteries at little cost, when your 2300 mAh set finally wears out. Thus far, I've charged my first set of batteries at least 100 times, and they don't apppear to be losing their capacity.
