Success at a Pounded Park

Went to an old park for two hours today. I know it has been pounded many times by other detectorists. The soil was almost brick-like in consistency. As I found, coins dont sink too far in this soil. I found the Barber quarter and the Merc at about 4in. Most old stuff in our area is usually 6in plus... The Barber is very slick but appears to be a 1907 or possibly 1897 with a definite New Orleans mint mark. The Merc is a 42 D in decent shape which is a pretty typical find. I also pulled 2 wheats (34 and 44). I also got less than a dollar in clad and no trash. The CTX makes hunts very efficient and is a pleasure to use!

Impressive hunt.
