I left the house pre-sunup, didnt have ANY money except a half handful of dirty clad from yesterday, less than a 1/4 tank of gas, and a half pack of smokes. Me and IBdiggin were up early reading the Forums and plotting and scheming...I knew I had to find enough to at least get enough gas to get home, but where close by havn't I hit? I went to a big school complex thats 15 miles from the house, knowing I HAD to find some money or I'd be on empty if I made it home at all.

I've hunted this place HARD and its been good, but I knew most of the really good locations I had picked over real well, I fired up the F70 running 42 sens and a -3 thresh. For the first 2 hours it was looking grim, just dimes and pennys, so I went to a swale out front of the school that looked like a likely place for some snow to get pushed, and there I got into the Q's! Then I worked the entrances and close to the chainlink fences and around the parking areas...again...the lower than normal sens got me coins I had missed before...I freestyled the wide open fields looking for a drop zone or lane, picking up stragglers, I just stayed at it, I quit at noon, poured my pouch into my sandscoop and shook it around, dumped the clad into my now empty 16oz coffee cup and it nearly filled it up! I swished some water around in it to sort of knock off the dirt and grass, poured it out on a towel to somewhat dry it off, and I went to the nearest coinstar,... had 41Q's, 46 D's, 8 N's and 104 P's including two wheats, I also had over 2 bucks in clean clad that did'nt get run through the coinstar, and 4 empties...
So I got one 24oz beer, a pack of smokes and gassed up to just below a half tank, got home with the 2 wheats and a few dimes and pennys left over. A guy cant really make a living, but a guy can sort of break even cladstabbing.:.and, its by gosh FUN! beers:

Well ole buddy, if it wasn't for the fun, I would gladly send you my clad finds for the day. I am keeping the silvers, though. I think you had better crank up that sen. some and dig some deeper silver coins. They add up quicker..........if you find any. Glad you survived for another day. HH jim tn

Damn mud ur a hoot lol . Way to go and good thinking man I might even try low sense ...well maybe ...I'm whith Jim I don't find a lot of silver but when I do its deep....I really like those deep whisper sounds of silver....keep it up love reading ur posts...hh rick in mi.

I found one of the wheats laying right on top of the grass, when I picked it up, I thought maybe little Johnny raided old Grandpas coin collection and there might be a SVDB, a 43 copper wheat, and a 1959 wheat laying around here!

I have also noticed that Canadian copper pennys ring up with a higher tone and TID than ours, around 77, that sweet tone always stops a guy dead in his tracks...

I am due for a silver coin of some sort, I have been stabbing more deep 92 on up TIDs than usual hoping for a Franklin half or a dollar coin, Did get that JFK clad half a week or so ago...You guys find silver in the top 4-5" all the time, so If I get over one, I'll find it with these low settings.

Hey Mudpup! How have you been? It's been a while since I've been here, but, finally, made it back. I don't know where you live, but, they must have cheaper smokes and beer there if you can get both for $2!!

Still got the F75 and she has paid for herself a few times. Got a new one to pay for now........a CTX3030, still trying to figure out how to use it. I think I have the basics down pretty good now, I've only had it just over a week. I must say it is a DEEP somabeechy and it will pick up a mosquito's belt buckle!

Take care and stay safe,
Roland

Hey Roland! I remember all the good times we had when we were both noobs and learning on the Forum here! All these old guys were patient and helpful, you hang out here and let us know what kind of success you are having!
Mud

Mud with the amount of clad you found on that trip would buy around 8 or more silver dimes. Most people don't find that much silver in one day.

It's still fun to find an ole Mercury Dime though.
