submersable Pinpointer?

Flying Pig

New member
Do they make one?

Thanks! I'll take a hard look.....

You are right !
It interfere with my excalibur !
The only remedy is to keep the coil as far as possible from the pinpointer, 1,5 metres is enough.
To do on-off is not pratical neither in the detector nor in the Pinpointer

A friend has a Vibraprobe waterproof pinpointer and we both have ProPointers. I've played with the Vibraprobe and don't care for it. Not nearly as good depth as the ProPointer, and I don't like how it has the auto on/off feature which gets to be a pain to use. I'd much prefer waterproofing a ProPointer. Easiest way to do that is to shrink wrap it in one of those food vacuum bags. Some people waterproof it by putting rubber cement (Shoe Goo works best as it's real thick and plyable) over the speaker hole, the switch (not sure if you have to do this), and the LED bulb area. They also put a rubber O-ring under the screw on battery door. I think I'd prefer the shrink wrapping method, though. Less chance for leaks and you aren't gumming up the thing with rubber cement.

HI I have a Pro Pointer that I waterproofed by just buying a cell phone water proof cover for. It just does fit in the cover and you can remove it easy or just leave it in there to hunt. I did take electrical tape and wrap the lower tip end just so it would take more severe abrasion from sand and rocks. I don't remember what make but just find a place that have them and take the pointer with you to fit it...

Thanks people....great ideas!

At the fire dept. we purchased a few water proof bags for the radios we use during water and ice rescue and they come with a lanyard on them, I like the idea of electrical tape for abrasion protection!

Can you get these bags on-line or tell us where you purchased them?
