Stupid question on operating freq or Prizm's

B.T

New member
Ok, I can hear the laughter from here, but for the life of me I cannot find what the operating freq is on the Prizm's. Could someone please fill me in?

No such thing as stupid questions........

It's 8.3 kHz as per Whites accessories listing here:

 B.T. Just wanted to let you know also that there are no other coils that will work on the Prisms except the ones that were made specially for the Prisms like the 8 inch and the 9.5 inch "Prism" coils. A metal detector coil has to match it's frequency. I have a nice collection of coils that are rigged to match a 6.59 khz frequency. That's why I won't buy a Prism. They didn't make a small coil like a 4, 5, or 6 inch to fit them. The reason they changed from a 6.59 to 8.3 frequency was because they think it will be more sensitive to very small gold jewelry. To me it is not worth the change and a lot of detectorists are disappointed right now and are waiting for Whites to come out with something new again. FYI and Happy Hunting, RDF:cool::detecting::whites:
