I have to admit, I have been a little lax about going out. Alot of it has been because it has been very busy, but everytime I am on the fence about whether to go or not I seem to use the high gas prices as an excuse not to go.

Mine is C. a whole bunch. I have some places I would like to go, but lack of money keeps me from it, not only for gas, but for food and such also. Grubstake

Hi Bob I must admit the gas prices make me think twice about trips for sure since most serious prospecting is for me a 1000 mile trip one way,it has even curtailed my deer hunting trips locally,I tried taking a plane to the last prospecting trip but I missed not having access to my camper atv and equipment. Not to mention it was very expensive!:nopity:

Here's another 'guess the wieght' for you Grubstake.Might help your gold blues. Again, sorry about the quality of the pic.Just half close your eyes and use your imagination. I found this about 20 years ago.

Here's another photo that I know nothing about. The reason I have these old photos is a friend went through his old photos and gave us the ones relating to me. This was among them.
I'm guessing about 11 oz.

Hope this gives you a bit of fun. Also hope I got the photo uploading bit right..

Post some more Alan, I like to guess. You know I have been to the land down under once? Yep, on R&R from Viet Nam. But I was not looking for gold then, that was in 1967. I was huntin, but it was something else. Grubstake

This will keep you going for a while. Do them individualy, biggest to smallest. Thats a standard plate...
I think Aus has changed a bit since '67. I was still at school.
Alan

Pheew thats quite a few, I'd say about 30 oz's total and the ones I could pickout from the biggest to the smallest, are not an accurate count. But here go's 4.5 oz, 3 oz, 2.7 oz, 2.5 oz 1.0 oz, .9 oz, .9 oz. .7 oz 4 grammer, another 4 grammer and a3.8 grammer and a whole bunch of 2 to 3 grammers. Grubstake

Very good. And very quick. The total weight was about 18 oz, the biggest 3 oz.
We have drifted off Potholes thread here.
I'll answer A. I went from a 6 cylinder petrol vehicle to a 4 cylinder diesel at the begining of last year so my costs are about the same as 2 years ago.

I have a 1990 ford ranger extended cab, has a 2.9 liter v-6 engine. I get 26 miles to the gallon on the hyw. and about 19 here in town. its a four wheel drive, five speed, with a camper shell on it. I bought it for 4800.00 about 6 years ago, and have put a 100,000 miles on it since I have had it. done nothing but regular main. oil changes, fuel filter and lube. Does not use any oil at all. I love fords. Grubstake
