Stroling With The Pro

New member
Took my AT Pro out for a morning stroll checking all the median strips in a 1950's housing development. What the heck, it was 6:30 and it was already 90 degrees.

Anyway strolled along the first set of median strips and in about ten minutes had a quarter and 8 copper memorials. The humidity was so bad that I was ringing wet.
Went on a little farther and bingo, 82-83-82-83 on the Pro. Got the trusty Garrett Pro Pointer out, target is 2" deep. Used my coin popper to pop out this really cute sun burst 925
Ring. The ring drought is officially over. Boy I'm sure glad been, well over a month since my last ring (gold men's 14k
wedding band 6.95 grams). Strolled on a little more and just could not take the humidity. Wound up the 45 minute hunt with 3 quarters, 8 penny's and a 925 ring. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now an then.

Does any one but me have rotator cuff problems in ther shoulders and use Doc's SWINGING THINGY? I can hunt with my Pro for hours, if I grab my whites MXT or the CTX it kills my right rotator cuff muscles. Looking for Pro's and cons of the SWINGING THINGY.

Thanks for lookin

Good score on the ring!! I've never used the Swingy thing, but I've learned to keep my elbow pinned to my side and swing at the elbow. No pressure on the old shoulder that way and it will keep your coil flat to the ground instead of the old "Pendulum Arc" I see so many guys doing. You got a pic of that ring??

I don't know about the swingy thingy, a lot of guys use them and report success. This sport should not be painful if everything is set up and balanced right. When I try to swing too fast in the water, my shoulder and elbow let me know I have to relax and slow down. Like you said, certain machines a guy can use all day and go home with a general overall feeling of a good workout with no body part hurting any more than the other. It may just be the lower shaft length is all..knightsquad suggested to shorten it up regarding shoulder/tricep pain, I've only been employing it for a few days, but I think that was my problem.

Glad you're having some luck, Sparkster. The humidity is a killer, especially when you aren't used to it. We've been getting tons of rain - I think it's our 100 year flood year - monsoons in the afternoons and noisy thunderstorms at night. The good news is that the rain exposes some hidden treasures and cuts the dust. Keep 'em coming!
