Street Tear Down - 9 Barber Dimes- 3 Indian Penny- 42' Quarter etc etc

2 hour hunt Sunday and 2 hours after work today.

The Mrs. and her Fisher Gold Bug found 3 Barber Dimes, 1 Merc, Indian Head Cent + a few Wheaties plus a Fruit fair souvenir from 1897 -Spokane

Me and the XP Deus(4kfreq -bottlecap- program) found 6 Barber dimes, a 1942 Washington quarter and 2 Indian Head Pennies and some unknown cents that are too crusted to see any info.

Needless to say its, the most fun we've had while dirt fishing in a while. We didn't want to quit, some of the coins were less than an inch underground.
Not sure why we didn't find any bigger silver than the 42' Quarter, but we will give it another shot tomorrow.

The neighborhood is from the early 1900's, there is a total of about 6 city blocks including side walks torn up for repaving and new underground pipes etc.

Hope you guys find a street tear down near you, and don't pass it up, just make sure their work has ended for the day.
The construction foreman was welcoming and curious as to what we were finding.
I think he saw that we were not causing a disturbance of any kind.

Thinking of going back out with headlamps lol :beers:

Good luck and happy hunting!

Sweet!
That 1900 IH sure looks nice...as do the Barbers in general.

I've had dreams of hunts like that over the years, but the reality rarely matches.
(Barbers from and inch down...silver coin spills.)

Savor the memory. :)
And by all means, grab some headlamps, and go for it!

The far right unknown is an indian head, try soaking it in olive oil and gentle #2 pencil trick. Nice finds!!!

Nice finds! Whenever I see ripped up sidewalk I take note but haven't got to hunting any yet.

We had a serious street tear out for new bicycle lanes and because some guy with no headphones was beeping in the wee hours and waking up the neighborhood, got the cops called on him. Moron.

Congrats on the great finds !

Unknown on the left is a Lincoln Cent. Can see Lincoln's head tilted to about 2:00 position in the photo. Great finds!

You are correct MAcle, the unknown on the left is a Lincoln Cent.

Timwied was also correct, the far right unknown is an indian head.

Here's a pic after a few days in olive oil.

Now I sit patiently waiting for the new XP - MI-6 PINPOINTER it has carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle! Wait?

Awesome
