Strange Token

This one came from an open field between some commercial buildings in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. It was found with the Teknetics Gamma 6000, about five inches down.

I have no clue about it, or how old it is.

It looked like gold in the hole, but it's some kind of light metal, gold color with blue enamel on it.

The design shows a rope going around it, with what looks like two hands. I don't think that's a hockey stick and two pucks in the middle. It's some kind of symbol -- but for what?

The gold spot toward the right side that "maybe looks like Australia" isn't part of the design. It's just a worn area where the blue enamel has come off.

Any ideas?

If you spun it 180, it does looks like a hockey stick. The "hands" are just the tassels of the rope that is in a knot up top.

Could be a field hockey token or something too? I realize field hockey sticks don't look like that, but could be a representation.

Cool token though!

I say the design on the implement reminds me of Polynesian or Pacific rim artwork. A game tool from an ethnic island? Peace Roy
