i'm trying to figure out no.23,if you step in quicksand, your going to have a devil of a time raising your legs slowly and laying on your back.i guess if you can do this,it must balance your body weight and make you buoyant(sp).

a special sand under special conditions. Water pressure is pushing UP through the sand and this makes a person sink, not being sucked down.
A person has a heck of a time sinking in the Great Salt Lake because of the density of the water, caused by the salt. Quicksand is much denser than salt water so it would be impossible to sink in it if a person lay flat and did not struggle.

Like you said, it would be tough if you were already stuck to the waste or above but if you walked in and saw what was up all a person would have to do is fall forward and slowly swim out. Animals fall in and they have no choice but to struggle and with those scrawny legs they are doomed.

I saw a demo of it years ago on TV and I remembered it.

I was hunting with a jerk one time, on some acreage I owned. He was being a turd so I suggested he hunt off in a special direction I kept for turds. There was quicksand over there. Not deep enough to eat a person up but deep enough to scare the clown. It did. :D

I was his hero:clap:

quicksand, never been around any but when the black clay soil i grew up around got saturated it would suck your shoes off your feet if you walked in it.

seems being calm and having an understanding of it helps a person out.
