Strange stuff going on

I told you about running into my old childhood buddy Jim a few weeks ago and less than a week later he died.

Tonight I went to a local bar to watch my buddies play as I usually do on Thursday night. There was a guy there on the other team that started a conversation with me for some reason. I don't know why as he had never spoken to me before. He was an old fart like me and told me he was originally from Port Huron Mi. I have done a lot of diving there and something else rang a bell in my ancient old brain. I knew a guy from Port Huron. Now it was a long time ago and there is no reason in the world that my ancient old ass would remember his name but I did.

I knew this guy from boot camp in 1957. MCRD Platoon 216! Well I told this guy that I went to boot camp with a guy from Port Huron and he asked the name. I told him and he said that Arnie was a good friend and he had worked with him for years! Can you believe this?:surprised:

I pressured my old, sorta drunk, :( brain and got a piece of paper and wrote down out DI's names(drill instructors). I told him to ask him if the names rang a bell. He and I could not believe it but he said he sure would and of course he got my name. This should be interesting! I have not seen Arnie since 1957! WTF! I hope Arnie does not die now!:surrender:

Most of the guys i knew 50 years back i don't even want to see, well maybe a couple:biggrin:
Good on ya bud:thumbup: Keep us posted huh?

boot with. I remember him as a nice guy and from Michigan. Heck, I even remember his middle initial "J" and the guy at the bar said Arnies father's name was Joe. I was just thinking about it and it seems that Arnies real name was Joseph Arnold but they called him Arnie:blink: Maybe to keep him from being confused with his dad? Hummm?? Why would I remember that? Strange, if my memory is accurate.
