You never know what you will find. We got back out today for a few hours today, after hitting the four silver yesterday we had the fever. I got this at about five inches. Knew it was silver but had no idea what it was til I got it cleaned up. Dated 1874, makes it my oldest coin yet.

Nice Coin. Very Nice Find. Isn't it German??

Silver is Silver in all languages! It's fun to make those unexpected finds.

I collect World Coins as another hobby. Its a 1874 D 1 Mark from the German Empire. Its a more common year and mintmark but is 90% silver! Nice find!

Howdy dlrwaitnonadime,

Where are you in LA? I went to Hign School in Coffee County. I live in Germany now and have seen my share of modern Deutsche Marks but no silver ones yet...pretty cool. If you are near Coffee Co. I might be able to put you on to a couple of places of interest to you. Let me know.

Happy Hunting to all!
