Strange object

I originally thought it was a large shark tooth but it is magnetic possibly steel found about 4 inches underground near a creek.

It's a known fact that sharks lose hundreds of teeth. A sharks tooth can only be regrown three times before it can no longer be replenished. After the third time the tooth is lost the shark must visit a special aquatic dentist to have its mouth fitted with artificial shark dentures. The artificial teeth must be strong enough to hold up to the rigors of feeding. On occasion one or more of these artificial teeth are lost during feeding or "missplaced" during daily activities. It's not uncommon to find these artificial teeth behind the sharks night stand, under the bed, in the trash (left it on a dinner plat) or next to the bathroom sink. Hope this helped! Congratulations on the find!

sort of but this area is sourounded by creeks and large trees also it has a bulge on one side and a cutout and on the other side it is rounded

It sure does look like a megladon tooth!...Put it up on Ebay as a "metal megladon mandible" I bet you get a buyer!

Judging by the <crickets> chirping Doc T, I don't think anyone bit. I liked the part about checking behind the nightstand tho!

Haha! Thanks.

Appear to be made out of cast iron. most likely a piece broke off of farm machinery. Is it somewhat heavy for it's size.

This was obviously from a shark with a good dental plan, looks like his crown fell out.

Could it be a replaceable tooth from an old style sickle-mower for cutting hay?
The rounded part should have some holes in it on the top edge where the bolts
went thru it to connect to the sickle bar. Used them years ago on the ranch. :wiggle:

My first thought was part of a plowshare as well. Photos of the whole on you found will confirm or disprove.

Ive been on a farm all my life id bet too say that is a plow sheer sure looks like one....but i have found theses in big foots house up in them hills but who can say for sure
