strange metal

i live in south central Illinois i metal detect old farm sites, i frequently find metal object,molten, non magnetic , not aluminum,not lead,fairly hard. when i put it to the grinder the metal is shiny. any suggestions what it might be?

Sounds like anthocite coal It was used for heating yrs ago.
