Strange encounter with a bird.

I was in a shady area in the woods with one small bright spot. This bird flew infront of me and landed on the ground. I think he was trying to get sun but not sure. Seemed he wanted to let the sun shine in his mouth.. Strange.
 
What he said. Very odd behavior. He might be sick, or just trying to lure you away from his territory... but sometimes they do things differently over there in birdland. :shrug:
 
Was this a very warm or hot day? If so he may have been trying to cool off. Birds don't have sweat glands so the best way to cool off (without water nearby) is to open your mouth and let the heat out.........NGE
