Yesterday (Saturday) I took my daughter to her archery club that meets on Thursday at night in a lighted pavilion at a camp and on Saturday near a lake at the same camp. After the archery club she was going to sleep over her friends house whom I introduced to metal detecting a month earlier. The next morning all 3 of us were going to go metal detecting. After I dropped her off at the lake, I went to the other end of the camp where I've metal detected before and found clad a 4 silver rosies there last month. So I decided to hunt that same place for 15 minutes before the Duke - Miami game and found a UMC New Club 12 gauge shell and some clad. On the way back I was swinging the detector and got a strong signal and looked down and saw a brass colored pin which I learned was a Mocking Jay from the Hunger Games movie and book. I took it home, and my wife said I should try to find the owner at the camp which I intended to do later in the week. The next morning a got a call from my daughter to set up a time to go metal detecting. I told her about the pin I found and she screamed, my friend lost one like that just last week during Thursday archery. I brought it to her and she was so happy. She thought she lost it forever. We then hunted for a few hours and found a silver ring at a high school and the girls found a medallion and copy of an old coin at the same camp. A fun day.

You sure made her day. I think it is great when you can take the young ones out to have fun. It is better digging in the dirt than drinking or something else. Glad you can help them. You are a great man... Tell the girls they done a great job... KEN

thats providential that you found that , interesting

That's a neat story. It sounds like you had a great time.

Awesome! This week my brother sent me a link from a website called VA Viper, a fellow named Lars Anderson has taught himself to shoot 10 arrows in less than 5 sec, and actually hit the targets...its a pretty cool video to watch if you are into archery...I think if you google "VA Viper Lars Anderson" and scroll down the vids, you will find it...he holds all the arrows in his string hand, and shoots off the opposite side that we do, sort of like how the far eastern mongolian shooters did. A guy throws three targets into the air all at once, and this guy can shoot them all before they hit the ground...your daughter might get some inspiration out of seeing this.
