Strange Coin???

Okay don't know what this is. It came from an area that had a large German population so I think it is probably a German coin of some type. There is an A or 4 under the date that didn't come through the scan very well. Anybody know what this is??
 
Did a search in Google images and found several German coins similar to yours. Try typing in 1845a pfennig. Good find!
