Long time watcher, I figured I would start my first post off with a unique find!
Any help trying to id it would be greatly appreciated!
I don't know much about bullets, I tried to research but I had no luck.
Large caliber approximately one inch in diameter and four inches long with a lead head.
Small hole in the base of the bullet and there is no writing on the cartridge.
Thanks again!

Hard to see in photo but there are two visable rings above the cartridge.I dont know what this was used for but it looks like it could stop an elephant, maybe two.

1 Inch U.S. Gatling Gun Cartridge For The M1865. It's the largest rimfire cartridge the US made.
M1865 Gatling Gun, firing 320 rounds per minute, the genesis of the machine gun was a formidable force-multiplier that had little impact on the outcome of the conflict for which it was designed, the American Civil War, but quickly forced the evolution of military strategy when it found use in continental Europe.
