Getting ready to purchase an infinium. i have a straight shaft for my excal and wonder if I can use this for the infinium??

Debby

I don't think that the straight shaft for the Excal will match up to Infinium. I was never a big fan of straight shafts, but my wife bought me an after market one for my Infinium about a year ago or so and I love it. It works great and is well balanced. I think it was made by Reidman? the same guy that made the after market headphone adapters. I don't know if he still makes them.
I think there's a guy on the forums here that makes a straight shaft for the Infinium. Plugger? I think. Sorry I'm not sure.
I hope you find something that works out for ya! Happy Hunting!:)

I like the stock shaft...never tried one of the straight ones.

I used my straight shaft from my Excal on my Infinium, The lower shaft fits tight on the Infinium coil , the holes on the Infinium
coil are a little bigger so I use the smaller diameter bolts from the Excal It worked for me.
I did not like the angel of the handle on the stock rod.

Well I had it all hooked up but decided it was just too heavy for me. I'll have to try again if I get the 8" coil. Hunted today for the first time with it hip mounted. Worked good for the beach but if I"m up and down digging in soil it might not be as good for me. I'll have to hunt some more to decide how I'm going to do this!

Hi folks - I found with the control box behind the cuff , i actually have to push Down with the 10" x 14" mono & Reid-Man shaft. It's a relief to barely push down than pulling on forearm all day long :)

Oh - and easier (i think) to re-GB or change any settings as well , I wont run it any other way. And all the talk about weak lower shaft ~ I just found the length i wanted to leave it and did some drilling & put xtra bolt (some plastic - some stainless) and it is solid enuf that i never have to think about it. I did that (after reading stuff) before i ever took it afield. Ken

I bought an Anderson straight shaft for mine and made the extension for under the cuff. This balanced the machine much better and reduced the wrist and elbow stress involved with the stock shaft. Especially when using the 10x14 DD. I mostly hunt with the 8 mono with this set-up and it is a joy. The Anderson shaft is rugged and fits the Finny well. I tried one from Plugger but there were R&D problems with it at the time so sent it back and went with Anderson and glad I did.

Hi Ken~Digs - I think you should tell the story about your broom handle shaft and show some pics. I think that's the greatest shaft going for a straight shaft. Very innovative! I can't wait to get to Az. to hunt with you!
