STRAIGHT SHAFT VS HIP MOUNT

I BOUGHT THE HIP MOUNT FOR MY NEW MINELAB EX CAL. 1000- 2 BUT I DON'T LIKE IT ALL THAT MUCH. Gulf, Can you tell me, would a straight shaft be better? I mostly do beach hunting and hip wadding. If the straight shaft would be better, where is the best place to get one? Thanks

the one that has the controls behind the elbow? i ask this becouse there seems to be different stiles out the

Yes, mine has the controls behind the elbow. I'd try to tell you which one but they aren't a sponsor so they jumble the name within the message and you can't read it. E-mail me if you'd like. I send it to you in a PM.

I'm NOT a hipmount guy either. My friend Max sure likes his though, but he can have it! I use the Lightning Rod, from Demarco Detector Sales. Joe is the inventor of this particular shaft. It is well balanced, for in the water use. Still a bit heavy on the wetsand, but I can deal with it. We are both set up with it and I'll put one up there, from the archives.

I also use the straight shaft but, the blue over under one from *****son. It puts the controls under my elbow and I find that works for me.
