I recently bought a UW detector from a guy on here, only the short 2ft suba handle came with it. So I made adjustable straight shaft, cost me $11. For those who really want to streatch out for big long sweeps, this is great. That is if your cable is long enough.
Here is what I used:
Paint roller extention (adjust from 4-6ft) from walmart for $8
4" sewage coupling(not PVC) from Rural King $1.29
PVC 3/4" T for $.59
PVC 6" long pc of 3/4" pipe $.89(had to buy 2ft)
Heavy handle paint roller, old ones will work the best they have solid ends.
I mounted the arm band on with bolts/nuts but the grip I taped with electrical tape. It would have cut down the handle ability to adjust if I had bolted it on. The 3/4" T I had to hone out a little to get it to slide onto the handle, I honed it out just enough so it fit snug. Had to take the handles end cap off to slide the T on. The end cap has a slot in it for easy storage on a wall hook. To attach handle to the coil, I used a old paint roller, had to heat the metal rod up a little and it pulled right out. Slowly heated the roller handle end over low heat on the stove, then put it into a vise and flatened it. Then I ground it down so it would slide into the coil's mounting bracket, marked the hole and drilled it out. And that was it.
Posted some photos below, my dog wanted in one, camera hog...He's just like me, blind in one eye...The first picture I spliced 2 together to show full and shortened extension.
