Hopping for 22 karat's or so cos them Indians love the good stuff
plus had a 2 shilling coin and some other older ones wich are still in the cleaning proses.
Cant wait to get back tomorrow must of been 2 meters of sand taken from the beach.
This has been the first time in months that a storm has taken sand and not added to it let the good times roll :D

Congrats with some nice find's !

Another thing, I'm just amazed on how well you have managed to clean all of the coins up so nicely. I'm having trouble with getting good results in the cleaning
process, how do you do it? Any special solvents, cleaning fluid's? I've tried many different methods with not much of a result so a few pointers would be
greatly appreciated :)

Happy hunting !

Nice finds - especially that ring. It looks like you can go out and spend some of those coins tomorrow. I hope the good "tides" roll.

Thanx for the feedback regarding the cleaning :)

Just another few questions. How much salt/vinegar do you use in the mix, and what is wire scoure? Is that like a metall cloth, like you use to clean the sink and other things which are hard to clean?

Interesting that You mentioned vinegar and salt. I've been using vinegar, water and salt in a rock tumbler and the clad coins have the black corrosion completely removed. I have to rinse them, add clean water only, and then tumble again for about 2 to 4 hours to remove the odd color. They look like they came from circulation after the second trip through the tumbler. I forgot to mention the first tumble with vinegar and salt should be about 2 to 4 hours or so. Not to good for copper coins as they come out with an odd color. :surrender:

Yea just a normal wire cloth for the sink never measure the vinegar and salt just cover the coins in the vinegar and maybe a table spoon of salt
some coins clean in 30 min or so but the real bad ones stay till looking cleaner some times over night.
Need to buy a tumbler thou bit time consuming with the wire cloth
Also I do the copper and silver ones separate

Would you mind taking a picture of the tools you use in cleaning your coins? I am still a bit confused about the process. Sorry, I am older than 50, things seem to go slower after 50:confused:
