Storage question

Do you guys keep the battery on the detector between hunts? Especially during the winter when hunts are few and far between. Is it ok to keep the battery on the machine? Or are lithium ion batteries ok to keep on the detector? Thanks Mike

I would be weary of storing and electronics with batteries in the. Batteries can get weak and actually leak into the compartment and they can oxidize messing up contacts creating power issues. I'm not sure about the rechargeable packs that come with the etrac.... but the 8 AA pack I would remove.

Agree on the alkalines/carbon batteries, but Lithiums are fine.

I asked the same question on a another forum. The general consensus was to error on the side of caution and remove the batteries.

I believe he meant to say err on the side of caution, but yea I leave my lithium in, never with any issues.
