Stopped at a yard sale on the way to work this morning...

There was a Fisher CZ-70 and a Whites 6000 DI 3 laying under a table. I asked if they were for sale and the lady said yes and they were her brothers that passed away some time back. I asked how much and she said....... Get this "Would $25 each be out of line?" I bought them and went back after work with another $75. Didn't know what to do or say. Told her they were worth more than that.

Thanks. For that price I can afford to send them in for a tune up. They were used a lot for sure and show it, don't think they were ever cleaned, calling Whites and Fisher tomorrow to see if they still work on those units.

I did that once. I found 3 detectors on craigs list for $30. Tesoro conquistador, tesoro silver saber and whites goldmaster 2. I gave her a lot more than $30. I still felt like I was stealing. Good for you.

I bought my whites 5900 at a yard sales for $75 and never regretted it... you will make your money back in short order ..... great deal...

That was a great deal !!

Boy that never happens to me. If anything when you see them at a yard sale or craigslist in my area they are way over priced!

You did an Honorable Deed. You can sleep well knowing you did not take advantage of someone who did not know the value of the items.

I do my best to do good by people. I know I should have gave her more but that's as much as I dared to. Maybe I will in the near future. Judging from the house she doesn't need it. lol.

so I told her the rifle was worth thousands (I could have bought it and would have never sold it, but I have a gun [FN-FAL] for squirrels, that get in my attic...) anyway thought she was going to faint--said it was grandpas. She may not have needed the money, but no reason why she should not get it.
I paid the asking on a Russian cobalt weave tea set, nice no idea the value, but I'm happy, on both counts.

An FN-FAL for squirrels? How the hell big are they? :surprised: You should be able to kill a squirrel with a .22-short!
