Stones from water finds returned from ARAgold

Sorry it took so long to post, but I caught the bug. The photo below shows my returned stones from ARAgold of Dallas. They are mailed back with your refinery check. The diamonds are sent in one bag and the rest of the stones are sent in one or more bags. Looking at the photo, the clear and frosted loose stones are CZ (frosted) and other stones (Clear) like topaz and quartz. ARAgold make no attempt to identify the stones as that is not their line of work.

Hey Kmandiver,

Seems like you had a good experience with ARAGOLD.I sent my gold to them for the first time this year also and I feel they did me right.
I really liked the fact that the stones were returned to me free of charge. The best part about it is that I didnt feel ripped off on my settlement.
I will continue with them unless things change.

we spend too much time swinging the detectors to find what little we do for the time spent NOT to get top dollar from our finds hope ara refinerys
keeps it up if the rep get bad like midwest has We will find another one:thumbup::cheers: to ara refinerys

That is really cool kmandiver, did you feel good about your settlement too? I am also looking for an alternate source. What measure of weight do they acknowledge, i.e. grams, troy ozs, dwts, etc? I like to measure my weights in whatever the refinery uses, so I can see that things add up. They are close to me, so if I ain't happy I can just go whip someones butt, but I ain't going to Michigan!

I will see if I can find last receipt. (No promises, I hate paperwork) I have used them several times and have always felt good about my returns. Since I go to the refinery to turn in my gold, they give me the turn in weight (in grams I think) and with the check comes a refined weight. I would like to say I keep a close watch, but the amount they pay is usually close to what I estimate, so I really haven't tracked the differences.

I'm definatly going to give these ARA guys a try, on my next gold sale.
Just recieved my check from some rings I sent to Midwest refineries
and i'm NOT HAPPY. I Weighed my rings on a postal scale before
sending them, stated my weights on a letter to Midwest, I recieved
a phone call from Midwest and they claim the wieght was 2 grams less.
Also, they figure in a loss and don't pay you for the true Karat of the
ring. I thought 14K is 14K WTF? I called to ask, and the lady on the
phone was kind of rude. I thought Midwest only took 5% which seemed
fair. But if they start shorting you in the wieghts and not paying for
the true Karot, then it's like getting taken at a pawn shop.

That is killer, I was hoping someone would come up with an alternate source. Either Midwest does not want to deal with us anymore(guess we are too high maintenance or they have just become too greedy)? My settlements are WAY off what they should be, so ARAGOLD will get the next haul. I like the idea of getting the stones back too. Thanks for the feedback.

I had the same experience the last time I sent a shipment to them only I didn't get a call from them. Just a check that was far less than I figured. I called them and the lady said the weight difference was because of some stones. There were a couple of very tiny stones so I was expecting a little weight difference but not that much. I had pretty much decided I could just deal with jewelry or pawn shops and do that well so I too am glad to hear about ARA. I'll give them a try next time. --Jerry

Am sending some rings to ARA tomorrow. I decided to ship only rings with no stones and weighed accurately to see how (or if) we agree on the weight. I use a scale that is accurate to one tenth gram. I normally ship to Kitco so I can control when it is sold, but we'll see how this works out.
