Stolen Metal Detector - Middle Tennessee - Please Help

I have never posted here before and only found this forum today, but I am asking for everyones help. Over the Thankgsgiving holiday, I had a T2 stolen from my truck in Manchester TN along with a pair of blue Jimmy Sierra headphones. I desperately want my machine back! To all you hunters in the Southern middle Tennessee area (Manchester, Tullahoma, Murfreesboro, Shelbyville, Winchester, Triune, etc), please be on the lookout for my machine. I am offering a $150 cash reward for its return and no questions will be asked!!!! I just want my machine back. Please help a longtime fellow detectorist. If you were to see anyone out using a T2 with blue headphones, please stop and ask them about it and the reward could be yours. I'm sure it will end up in some innocent or unsuspecting persons hands. Any information will be more than appreciated and kept confidential. Contact me at e-mc2@charter.net

Respectfully,

Chris Armstrong

A few ideas...if you have any local pawn shops...check them if it is there do not argue with them...call the police, it is stolen property and you will get it back. Do you have a serial #? Would be hard for people to walk up to people detecting and say something you need some prove... Also keep an eye on E-bay. I was purchasing a new Vehicle, well new/used in July and wanted a 4 x 4 suv...but with all the detecting i do and equipment went with an 07 Grand Prix because it had a nice large trunk that would fit all my equipment and conceal it. Watch local newspapers maybe a for sale ad will appear, also look at Craigslist things sold by area/town, you never know...maybe on a few grocery stores in area even use those free ad space cards and put a message up you are interested in buying that particular model. This time of year is the worst for theft with the holidays... Also do not forget to file a police report for theft, quite often police recover stolen items.

One last thing...seeing it was stolen from your truck, why not try (with a police report) to put in a claim with your insurance company...try car policy first...then if you own a home try home owners insurance policy you never know...sorry to hear about this...

Great advise Gregg.

Yes pawn shops are a common place for criminals now to be unloading valuables for pennies on the dollar....especially during the holiday season. Some pawnshops (not all) are now keeping proper logs and require copying down all your info when you sell them something...such as gold and silver jewelry...a detector not being such a hot item as jewelry will most likely appear in a pawn shop, or sales add of some type. Doubt the guy would take the proper time to learn to use it...its a shame we have low lifes like this running around stealing what we have worked for.

I had that happen to me a few years ago. They broke into my car and took my beloved Classic IDX with Mr. Bill Mods along with all the accessories. I know what your going through. Your heart is broken and you're very pissed off. I only had liability for my car and to add salt to the wound I was living in a gated community at the time. It never did turn up.
Fallow Gergg's advice. I hope you get yours back.
