Well the rules were simple each coil got 1 1/2 hours in a park that I know well....clad park...always delivers...

It was a close race but the Eclipse 5.3 was the winner...:whites:

I never think a park in my area is hunted out. There is way to much activity by me! We went from one park for my son's baseball game to another park at 8:30 pm for his first football practice. The second park we left at 9:30. There were 3 soccer games and one baseball game still going. Always fresh clad for me. Agree about the different coils, I seem to pick nickels better with my smaller coil.

Looks like the 5.3 gets more quarters, nickels and pennies.

Better balance and ;'feel' lets me enjoy the hunt for a longer time. In addition, they hunt closer to metal structures, fences and pipes. They can be worked in and around brushy conditions well. They do a very good gob hunting in trashy environments.

I always recommend a Blue Max 600, 5.3 Black max or 5.3 BullsEye coil for the Classic III, ID or IDX Pro, XL Pro or XLT, and the 5.3 Eclipse for the M6, MXT or DFX. Their 6

i tried to put my stock coil back on and noticed it was heavear and i thout humm , that will limit my time so i put the 5,3 back on and yes you can really get close to the iron posts especialy if the sens is turned down ive found a lot of black nickles by iron posts others have missed da gon i dont know if i will put my other one back on gunnar bradford minnesota

it is probably the most effective coil i have used in thirty years of
hunting!.."crackerjack" coin finder, and as monte pointed out, just a well balanced, and perfect size coil too!

Small coils are useless other than in high trash situations. You have to sweep like mad with small coils to get a decent amount of ground covered. I like to use small coils in all metal - try it it works well on trashy sites.

Thanks for the tip, mine is going back to White's (the 5.3) on Monday. It has become erratic, lost depth and sometimes fails to read surface clad that I eyeball<that really makes me mad!:rage:
