Stinkin' rain...

Got my ACE 250 'sports package' yesterday!! I put the 9x12 coil on it..emitted an evil laugh at the though of the impending tot-lot domination, then saw the extended weather forecast. :ranting: I've been really busy with my mom's medical stuff, working two jobs and having a family as it is, but at least I was able to squeak out for some night hunts here and there. Now..well..short of a wetsuit and waterproofing my ACE, it looks like I'll be dreaming about my fabulous finds awhile longer!

Rains coming my way just in time for the weekend. Gonna try and get out tomorrow. :wiggle:

I did manage a 1 hour hunt that wasn't very productive.. I really want to get some swing time in with that 9x12!!

I have 2 storms back to back hitting today and lasting through and past the weekend. Just when I get caught up and have plenty of extra time, mother nature pays no respect. It would hurt more if I had a new machine or coil etc.
At least unlike years ago, there is the Internet and mags to read up on.
I did used to go to a place where I can get under heavy tree cover and not get rained on so much. But I pounded that area hard for a long time with about a half dozen detectors and the finding got so far and few in between. I would like to find another spot like it.

Metal detecting is so much easier and better in nice moist or even wet ground. Your Ace 250 will perform better, it is easier to recover targets, and it is easier to put the ground back the way it was. You may find yourself praying for rain this summer. Look for breaks in the weather. Take the next nice day off from work, if you're able, and get in some recreation. It sounds like you've earned it.

FWIW, I strongly prefer the stock coil over the big coil for most sites. Nice clean (not too trashy) fields are great for the big coils.

Yes please send some...no ALOT of that rain down here to Fl as well we are "burning up" literally! We have 2 more months to go till our "rainy season" kicks in.
