The Stingray is a standard VLF detector with a motion discrimination mode, a non motion all metal mode and a non motion TR discrimination mode. It runs at 10 khz and comes standard with an 8 inch concentric coil. A good detector for coin and jewelry hunting in freshwater, but like most single frequency detectors it won't work as well in salt water or wet sand on saltwater beaches as pulse or multifreuency detectors.

Did you find the schematics and instructions I sent you for adding manual ground balance to your 1265? If not I'll see if I still have them, and if so I'll send them again. Good to see you posting here. This is a very active forum with a great bunch of regulars:).

Yes, I did. Thank you again. I just got a stingray 2 (in the mail as I speak) and looking forward to some cool water hunting! The more I use these "old" Tesoro's the more I like em'
