Stingey farmers! LC today

I have been working a 1790 farmstead with fields that are atleast 4 acres. I have been plugging away at them for the past 2 months, am almost finished and only come up with 3 coins. One wheat, one +- 1801 French 5 Centime, and the below LC that I found today. I think that it is an early 1800's. The identifying features for now are not showing through. I hope after soaking for a while I will be able to see the date. In the day these farmers must have emptied their pockets before working in the fields. Another possibility is that the fields have been plowed and everything is down too deep. A few weeks ago I did find a key type brass loop under a shoe box sized rock. I found 4 buttons today also. Thanks for looking. HH

Thanks for the pictures Mick! Congratulations on the finds as a reward for some very hard work! I'm glad you were able to find some old coins!

Real nice Mick !

The L.C. looks like it might clean up well using Electrolysis.
I've gotten great results using this process on old copper's so far.
