I was still wondering about anyones thoughts on a probe? I have never used one and was hoping to here from someone on weather I should invest in one or not? What are the benifets if any? Also is there anyone from southern Indiana down around Corydon?

I pondered like you and my 250 ace is dead on accurate but when kneeling down and coin dont pop i hate getting detector refinding and going at it again.I got the sunray probe (really expensive) and i would not take for it. Now im down the probe verifies the exect i mean to the size ie 1 " or less as well as when diggin if the item is in the wall or still down below. I went from some holes 4" dia to none i mean NONE over 2 inches and as deep as it took to retrive the coin too. Wheather the sunray probe ( i reccommend it period) or hand held stand alone the probe should be an accessory that is SOLD with every detector.

What kind of probe are you interested in? the ultimate is tghe Sunray probe as it operates off your detector's power source and is basically a one-inch coil and will penetrate much deeper than the hand held probes.

The benefits are being able to quickly locate a find that you can't seem to locate and it works great in bark chips where coins are often a real bear to see and recover. Often when one digs a hole and is unable to locate the coin it is usually stuck in the side of the hole and your detector can't tell you that but a probe can.
