Still waiting for my T-2 to get back

Rick(ND)

Well-known member
I sent it off on April 24th Priority mail so it would get there fast as I need it for a competition hunt on May 21st. I got a call the 3rd of May they received it, but was told their person that would do the upgrades and replace the coil was sick, so it would be on Monday May 8th when repaired. Now it is May 15th and still don't have my T-2 back, been close to 3 weeks now and starting to worry if it will be back in time for me to try it first before the hunt.
How long has it been taking for others to get them back?? Maybe they are sending it by UPS would explain why it is not here yet,if they did it may not be back by the 21 First as UPS for me has been 7-15 days in most cases. I sure hope it will be here in the next 2 days if i am to use it on Saturday.

Competition hunts are really strenious, I hope I have enough time on my T2 before Shreve Ohio gets here. I hope you have another detector lined up that your familiar with?

Mine took about a week and a half, it seemed like forever but I'm sure nothing unusual happened. A great mod though you'll love it when you do get it! I just hope that you got enough time to swing it before your hunt!

I sent mine on a Friday, they got it Monday, I got it back on Thursday.

Rick, I bet yours is in transit right now. Get the UPS tracking number and see where it is at.

It didn't show up today either and now wondering if UPS lost it, or sending it around the country again as they did this on one item trying to find ND. It went from Indiana, the Penn to Utah, the Nev, back to Utah, then to Montana and finally to ND after 15 days. At least it got to see the country while I was waiting for it.

I will try and find the Phone number and call First Texas and see if I can get a tracking number and see if it is out seeing the country.

here are the phone numbers. 1-800-444-5994 or 1-915-633-8354.

I called the first time and was told to call back as the person that would know was out to lunch. I called back later and was told they thought it was sent out today which is 3 weeks from the time I mailed it to them.I told them I mailed it in 3 weeks ago so I would have it for our competition hunt we have this Saturday the 21st as I had 2 guy driving down 200 miles to see how it will work. The person wasn't sure it had went out yet, but was going to check it out and call me back, but never heard back again, so maybe I will have to call back again. If it was there yet they would try to express it to me, but if they send it out on Thursday I still wont have it for the hunt.
Not happy it is taking over 3 weeks to get the upgrades and the Battery problem repaired, plus not having it for the hunt. I would use my X-Terra 70, but I have a guy trying it out, so I will be left with my Explorer or Sovereign GT for the hunt.
I sure do hope it works extra good when I get it back.
I will post when I have it back in my hands again.

Sorry to hear that Rick. That wouldn't make me feel to good about the company either, when others are getting units back timely.

This happened to me with Fisher. Sent in my machine and waited 6 weeks. My mint machine came back un-minted :rage: No, they didn't trash it, but it didn't look like it did when I sent it in.

At least from my experience with First Texas, they send it back better looking than when it goes in.

Hang in there.

Hate to hear that rick. why does this seem to happen when a guy is really needing it. good luck and hope you get it in time.

I just got off the phone with FT and my T-2 was still there and they said it will be sent out today for next day delivery, so I should have it for my hunt on Saturday as it should be delivered on Friday. Just wont have alot of time to try it out with the mods, but I guess for competition hunting it should be no problem as it will hit the targets fast without any real special settings. Now if I can get up and down and dig as fast as the T-2 can see them I will be the winner for sure.
Thanks everyone for listening and your concerns.

Well, now you can adjust your pinpoint sensitivity in case you need to use it, have a new multi-pitch mode that turns it into a different machine, and they re-calibrated the coil to the machine, and enhanced the battery display characteristics. Other than the tone mode it won't take you long to get back in good form with it.

I turned my pinpoint all the way down to 1 and it still works quite well. Might want to fool with that a bit before the hunt in case you run into a deep target that needs it, other wise you can just use the toe.

Good news

Is it the turning-off-and-on problem?

Several times the detector has reset itself to factory presets while detecting. This usually happens when I set the detector down a little harder then normal and when I bump it and feel the battery is losing connection causing it to go to the presets. I tighten the spring for the contacts and seem to make it much better is why I feel it is the battery contact causing this.
