Got up, read the Forums a few hours before Sun-up like normal... we had a minor 'warmup' that was only to hold for 48hrs...all the snow melted late last night, so I hit one more clad grab this am,...Set up the F70 in mid 60's sens, 4 disc, -3 thresh, DP tones, 11" DD..

Punched a bunch of places close to home, really flying along...including some chip totters that were thawed...got into the secondary and tertiary drop zones at some sportsfields and was really slinging coil! Flat grass and wet dirt! Highgrading Q's and racing the weather for a decent haul, ..wanted to make at least $10 clad, no ground balance or pinpointing, just high flying and coil hopping kicking chips and stabbing targets as fast as possible!

Stooping and stabbing in a drizzly, windy rain, vis was @1/4 mile if that....F70 pinged like a madman and was a firin' on all eight!...(I really love this rig!:inlove:)
Headed for the house after a little over 3hrs field time, 4hrs 'gone time' total...smoked nearly a pack of non-filters in the process! Musta looked like some sort of crazy bipedal coal fired clad dredge! Only faster with less of a spoil trail... Estimated I had maybe 12 bucks...got home and dumped them all in the tumbler for a short time and spread them all out..:surprised:.

143 coins for $15.49!...two junk rings, a junk earring, and a plastic gold coin eyefind...temp has dropped 8 degrees in the last hour...heading into the teens...one thing, a 70 dont need much time to make bank....probably the fastest I've ever hunted I reckon...I still cannot find the top end speed of this rig after swinging it for 4yrs straight...'pent up demand' after not being able to go out hunting over the Holidays like I wanted...I hope y'all got out and maybe somebody found something really good...I know Hillis was making a run for it, and REVIER of course...anybody?

NIce haul! Gonna get out thursday all day. If there is no ice on our favorite lake up north and the wind is right thats where i will be.

Last time I was there 'Rat, ice tight up to the shore, nearly all the way around except where that little creek dumps in, and thats not the primo place as you know.....might want to try 'fatgirl' or 'cat cove', or a few of your other spots, even perhaps where you found that valuable old nickel last year and gold rings close to home that you havnt been back to? In the black mud? You know the place....maybe the wind will be in your favor though? Hard to say at this juncture...thinking spots on 'Whitey' may be open, or even along the north shore of 'Mac' where its in the sun, I've been having a look at that place...I'll join you if its in the cards, maybe even carry along a cold one for you!.....no matter how you slice it, its damn tough cold work, but whats a guy to do?...:beers:
