it the treasure coast beaches this morning and worked like a dog just to get 0.98 cents in clads.i have prayed to the mojo gods but to no avail, all i got for my troubles is more sand washing in on the beach, mother nature is doing a fine job replenishing our beaches without the help of man.

Roger, I know exactly what you mean. I have been running into the same thing on the Gulf Shore beaches. Some clad and an occasional ring. Pickings seem to be scarce right now. Maybe things will pick up after Christmas holidays.

You go on down there tomorrow, and instead of hunting the traditional areas where you are supposed to find drops, look for some out of the way and off to the side worthless looking area that nobody would think holds anything, then go over there and try it. Its the same up here in the summer, the main beaches are swept daily and clean by all coil swingers from neck deep to 50' inland...but when a fellow gets off to the side, or higher up in the dunegrass, stuff starts showing up! Gotta try to think where would some young lovers go of an evening stroll, and need a little privacy just out of view of the normal travel patterns..also gotta think about your competition, they are sweeping the main towel lines and heavy travel spots, so its just one of those things. I bet up here, and down there too, a fresh drop on the main dont last 48hrs before 20 coils have passed over that spot. I'll bet you a doller! Heck, you only need 2 more pennys to have one!
Mud

Ditto Mud's post. I find I have to do a little detective work when it comes to detecting and when the rest of the beach is not producing, I'll try the access paths, you know the paths in the sand that lead from the boardwalk to the beach line or a concession stand etc;. I detected this heavy ring on one of those paths leading off the beach to a parking lot. I deduced that whoever dropped this ring, he probably forgot he took his ring off and while carrying his stuff off the beach, it slipped out of a shirt or pants pocket. So yes, don't give up because there are always great targets to be had. When I'm finished for the day and walking off the beach, I don't stop swinging or give up....I always hit those pathways and I guarantee your mojo will return real quick:clapping:!!.
