I decided to hit the same dirt pile where the first Filipinas nickel was found and found two more pre-commonwealth coins. This one is the first silver coin from the site - a 1904 Filipinas dime and .900 silver! [attachment 67703 1904FILIPINAS10c.jpg]
Also dug two bronze chinese coins with the square holes. These should be easy to identify when cleaned up as the name of the reigning Emperor is on one side of the coin. [attachment 67701 chinese2.jpg]
Lots of intact bottles came out of this week's dig. The large salt jar is from a Morton cannery company in London which actually precedes the US Morton salt company. There are also numeous ink bottles. [attachment 67702 oldbottles.jpg]
The picking crew also found this lead button complete with the shank. It is unmarked so should be pre-1795 spanish. [attachment 67704 SpanButton.jpg]
Another museum find is this brass padlock used by the US Navy and made by Corbin, New Britain, CT. It is interesting that the item on the other side of the chain bears japanese flower emblem & characters. [attachment 67705 Corbinpadlock2.jpg] [attachment 67706 Corbinpadlock.jpg]
