Still loving my golden umax!!!!!

I spent about hrs yesterday training on the golden umax with the 9+8 coil, I dug the nickel tones and pull tab tones , I noticed some pull tabs came in on the (N) tone but I learned the pull tabs give off more of a hard sharp tone than a gold ring, it's the only detector I had that does give a different tone between the two targets most of the time, once I learn everything about it I know this will be my main detector , I did use the CSC but in trashy areas it's tough to lock on to the target, but the stock coil is fantastic , and each coils has its place, good luck HH tigerhank68

Love reading these Tesoro stories! I might be getting a Golden in a week or so. Great detector for those days when you only have a short time to hunt - really picks out the good stuff!

I did do some test just awhile ago and the nickel gives off the overload further away than the gold ring I guess the size was the determining factor, I do carry my test targets with me before I hunt and just go over them before I hunt, it includes several older pull tabs , and newer ones and a couple of rings, and some my have the same tone but they are different it's amazing , I really do love this maching and my tiger shark too, Mike hope ya get one and make a video cause you make the pretty doggone good!! And CW you may have some tips to share with us, I agree with ya it's a ring getter, I think the key thing is to use it as much as possible and I do test it with the sample targets ever night to lock it in my brain housing group, thanks for the replies Mike and CW best of luck to ya, HH tigerhank68

If your not careful you'll miss some rings using the wide notch . Fine tune the narrow side so you get rid of the newer pull tabs but still get nickels and only use the notch to just check your targets instead of running it constantly . Your still going to dig some pull tabs but that's just part of the game . I've been using this technic for a few years now and it has worked pretty well for me . Good luck

Hey Dert, I use mostly with the notch of but like we talked about before I only use the notch to check the target sometimes, that was great info you gave me, I'm a huge fan of the Gumax it's just what I wanted in the field!!!!! And I saw the Gumax otter the other day , now that was cool! HH tigerhank

Yeah let me know how it turns turns out for sure, sounds interesting

I love my Golden, especially in this ultra-hot weather when all I really feel like doing is some coin popping.

Well said Smudge - My Golden is scheduled to be here by Tuesday, so I hope to be "coin popping" soon myself!

I with ya smudge I like mine also , it's just a fun detector to use!

I like it because it doesn't have a screen all tone ID and light as a feather!
