I've been swinging my XT70 for over a year now and love it. I have a sweet opportunity to move up to a better machine. I have the best mother-in-law a guy could ask for, she offered to buy me a new machine. I'm not going to hit her to hard, but would like feed back on the pro's and con's of what's out there. I'll probably stay around the $1000 range. This is like Christmas in September. What would you guys consider?

Detectors are tools. Like any tool you choose the one best fitted to the job that you can afford or at least care to spend. The detector you have now is a mid-priced Swiss army knife. It does lots of things well with excellent performance for a multipurpose detector. Where you hunt & what you hunt should guide you, it may turn out that a used detector should be considered.

Coins? Trash? Gold? Area? Ground conditions? Water detector? Cache hunting? Your style?
What Minelab are others having the best results with in your area? Oh I just assumed you would be getting a Minelab.
Good Luck
Jeff

I normally hunt old parks, schools, home sites. Coins and jewelry.
