Still hittin' those exposed lakebeds---Part deux!!

I headed back over to the same swim beach I hunted last weekend. I decided to take one of my Excals as well as my At Pro's just to see how they stacked up against each other. I hunted 2 hrs. with each and after it was all said and done, I'd have to say it was a draw. Both found me some loot and a little bling. It was a great day, started off right around freezing, but with plenty of sun, it warmed quickly and it wasn't long before I shed the coat.
Here's the total take!!

And of course, the trash!!

And here's the little bit of bling cleaned up a bit. One silver worry(spinner) ring, one silver bracelet and a ring of unknown metal stamped "H-N-L 1" whatever that menas

I took a little time before I started hunting to try and get a few wildlife shots with my Nikon D40x coupled with the Sigma 50-500mm lens. I should have tripod mounted that heavy lens, but I thought I could get a few decent shots going handheld. Wrong!! Here's a couple of a Great Blue Heron, not great, but OK.

It was a great day and glad I'm still able to get around and enjoy them on occasion.

And I've also put in a link for a sad little video----gotta work on those.

Back to the exposed lake bed, Part Deux

Maybe the H-N-L 1 is a jeweler's maker's mark? The ring doesn't look corroded like maybe it is precious metal? The Texas lakes sound like great places to hunt.

Good huntin', BCD! The silver cleaned up really nice!

Nice to C U making some videos of your hunts. If u Have another drought this year in your area , thats gonna expose alot more lake bottom. I guess less people (depositers) come when it gets to bad, but it works out both ways for the detectorist.Nice finds:thumbup:

Nice hunt!:garrett::detecting: Cool vid! Congrats on the silver!:beers: Glad to see you hittin' the lake while the water level is low. I hope you stay out of the water. That stuff can get nasty when at low level. Thanks for sharing! Happy Hunting!:)

There's so much surface area to hunt, no need to get in the water. I agree, the water can get pretty nasty when it gets low, all the crud can get rather concentrated.

Great finds BigCat! If you're anywhere mear Lake Medina, give it a go. I lost my high school ring there in 1960 while water skiing!

Good that you also showed the junk. It kinda makes you look more like a human AT User. Keep the good finds coing. Us northeners need all the good entertainment we can get at this time of year. It's a cold -40c with the wind in Edmonton this morning.
